Here we are, the eve of Christmas Eve. All our hopes for the future are focused on the birth of one small boy due to be born tomorrow night. And the U.S. economy may never recover. These are an unlikely pair of thoughts as we finish our shopping and begin preparing for Christmas worship services and celebrations with family and friends over holiday tables. Whether the economy will recover is yet to be revealed, but each Christmas brings with it whatever else the world encompasses, especially that first Christmas. Our misery, frustration, fear, sadness and sorrow at the state of the world in which we live can be matched or exceeded by everybody else's world that has come before ours. It would be unwise to deceive ourselves into believing otherwise.But it would be outright foolish to believe that the birth of God With Us tomorrow night will change the world any less than did his first appearance in a stable over two thousand years ago.  Click here to continue.

Contemplate for a moment how you felt the instant you laid eyes on your very first love. Is that how you feel about this person today? What do you think about this person, if you even think about them at all anymore? Remembering back to that moment, are you able to articulate your faith experience from that time? How would you describe your faith now? Where our thoughts, feelings and faith fit into our journaling process are as crucial as every other element, if not more so. Recognizing them as the main ingredients of the whole of life is about as simple, and as complicated, as as it gets.
